Mr. Cooley is an appellate attorney, licensed to practice law in both Michigan and California. He represents clients in appeals relating to: business transactions and commercial litigation, personal injury and workers’ compensation, criminal defense, real property disputes, probate, and family law. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Appellate Practice Section.
Mr. Cooley holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, a law degree from Michigan State University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Oakland University. While in law school, Mr. Cooley earned the Jurisprudence Award for both Criminal Trial Advocacy and Advanced Legal Research.
Prior to joining Speaker Law Firm, Mr. Cooley practiced appellate law (primarily criminal defense), business law, estate planning, and workers’ compensation. He also served as Of-Counsel for the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, where he authored and argued criminal appeals. He has written numerous articles on Constitutional law, business and start-up law, and the future of the legal profession. He has worked tirelessly to secure good results for his clients and takes pride in making complex legal issues easily understandable. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Cooley also coaches a local high school Track & Field team.
